Please Pray!

Just wanted to post this asking those of you who read Alyson's blog page to pray for our friends Jeremy and Laura Holland and their son Drew who is really sick, also keep his older brother Gaven in your prayers. They had to take Drew to Arkansas Children's Hospital yesterday, he has been sick for the past two months, when he went to see the doctor yesterday a blood test revealed a low white and red blood cell count. Last night at Children's he was given blood, due to anemia and today he was having more tests ran to determine what is wrong. Please lift this family up in your prayers, we all know that God is the Great Physician. Thank you and God bless you.

Christmas Day 2008

Christmas Day: Christmas morning we open presents from Santa at our house followed by Mommy making pigs in a blanket for breakfast, then it is time to get eat lunch at Granny and Papa Edwards and later in the evening off to Popa and Nonna's for finger foods, dirty Santa and a family game of some kind.
I must say this was my favorite Christmas this far, oh I am sure they just get better but for now this is my favorite. This year we were able to start teaching Alyson that Christmas is not about present from Santa but it is about the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. I think for this year we have established that it is a special time, Jesus birthday which there is no doubt I know she knows that fact she has been singing it since Thanksgiving (Happy Birthday Jesus). She did however enjoy her presents and she was thoroughly excited to see that Santa had left presents for her under her tree and that he ate the cookies she left out for him. Alyson loved all her gifts: baby doll with stroller, high chair, and bed, dress up items, Dr's kit, games, kitchen, doll house, a shopping cart, and a stocking full of goodies. Santa also left a note just for her. It is a wonderful experience to watch a child on Christmas morning, so excited and full of life and wonder. Thank you Lord for the many blessings in our life and for all you have given us!

Christmas Eve 2008

Christmas Eve is spent every year with my family, we have such a wonderful time together and what a blessing to have Lauren and Landon with us this year. Of course as I mentioned in my Thanksgiving post my Grandpa passed away in June so this was our first Christmas without him and we truly missed him. I am so thankful that our whole family was able to spend Christmas Eve with my Granny at her house to help her through this time. All the kids got several presents from all the aunts and uncles and loved playing together.

Chirstmas Lights

The weekend before Christmas we decided to check out the lights in Van Buren. There is a house that has Christmas lights that dance and blink to music, just set your radio to a certain station and watch the show, for FREE. Anyway we waited in line for about 45 minutes to see this and was it worth it. Santa was even there handing out candy canes to all the cars. Alyson loved the show, although her favorite part was Santa coming up to her window and talking to her and giving her candy, since this is what she had told me she wanted Santa to bring her for Christmas. It was a wonderful show and well worth the drive and time.
